Established in 2013, DataLock Consulting Group is a privately held, rapidly growing cybersecurity consulting firm, providing security solutions to the Federal Government and private industry.

Located in the heart of Washington, DC. DataLock Consulting Group is a Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB).

Our security professionals help our clients secure their networks and navigate through the complex web of security regulations mandated by the United States Federal Government and Industry bodies. We believe in building security into networks and systems, not bolting it on. DataLock exists to help organizations manage Cybersecurity risks through sound risk management best practices while improving security posture. We understand the complexity of securing today’s interconnected IT networks and data, so you don’t have to.

Our team believes in building a strong relationship with our clients, so that the process of securing their networks does not impede business operations. We aim to learn about the business model of each of our clients inside and out to get a full understanding of the business before we implement solutions. We believe finding the perfect balance of cyber security and functionality is the key to making security work in an organization. The solutions we implement should be both secure and usable for the organization.

Our senior management have over 30 years of combined experience in Information Security, and Program Management. DataLock’s founders have spent their careers dedicated to securing and protecting the data of Government and members of the private industry.

Zyad Nabbus - Principal

Mr. Zyad Nabbus is the founder of DataLock Consulting Group. He has over 11 years of experience in the cyber security field. Prior to founding DataLock Consulting Group, Mr. Nabbus was a security consultant primarily focusing on Government clients.  Mr. Nabbus’ experience mainly focuses on managing and performing Vulnerability Assessments and Gap Analysis based on various Cybersecurity frameworks. More recently Mr. Nabbus has been helping organizations develop and implement cyber security programs.  He has performed this work for many Federal Agencies and Commercial clients. He is also well versed in FedRAMP and the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) standard.  Mr. Nabbus holds a Bachelor’s in Information Technology from George Mason University and a Master’s degree in Applied Information Technology.   He holds several certifications to include the Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) and the Certified Accreditation Professional (CAP).

Emad Nabbus - Principal

Mr. Emad Nabbus is a Senior Executive with over 17 years of experience in Information Technology and Cybersecurity. He joined DataLock Consulting Group in 2020 as a Principal, responsible for providing Cybersecurity consulting services to DataLock’s clients as well as being responsible for the overall operations of the company. He has a wide range of Cybersecurity expertise. He started his career as a systems administrator and expanded to Cybersecurity consulting. After his stint in consulting, he decided enter into Public Service where he worked for various Departments and Agencies. He started out as a Security Architect at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). He moved on to the Department of Energy (DOE) where he was placed in charge of developing an enterprise Cybersecurity risk management program and was the Energy liaison for the DHS Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigations (CDM) Program. After working for the DOE, he worked for a financial regulator where he continued his duties as a liaison to DHS and built out several programs within the Cybersecurity program to include vulnerability management, Cybersecurity awareness training, phishing, privileged access management and various other programs. Mr. Nabbus is also considered a thought leader in the area of Cybersecurity. He is a named co-author of the National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication (SP) 800-63-1 and 800-63-2. His experience as a security consultant and as a Government employee for several different Federal Government Departments and Agencies brings a unique knowledgebase to help our customers solve their Cybersecurity problems.
